Twelve of us gathered at Denby Dale car park for the start of the walk expecting heavy rain and strong winds. Fortunately just a bit of drizzle till lunchtime when for a short while it rained heavily. Leaving Denby Dale we joined the Dearne Way to Scissett where we had a coffee break in the children’s playground. Onwards towards Skelmanthorpe through fields and woods following the Kirklees Light Railway. Lunch stop was by a not so dry stone wall close to Shelley Station where we were rewarded with the train passing by. Back to Denby Dale via Lower Cumberworth.

15 of us and 3 dogs [exceptionally well behaved] set out on an 8 mile walk from the hamlet of Millthorpe on a dry, slightly chilly, Sunday morning. We went via Moorhall, Barlow Grange, Oxton Rakes, Brindwood Gate before returning to Millthorpe, Conditions underfoot were quite good in spite of rain showers during the past week. We enjoyed some lovely views on a walk that is quite close to Sheffield. In fact we could see the city on the horizon. We also welcomed two new walkers both named Julie. Thank you Peter for back marking.

18 people turned up foy the Wentworth Walk, The weather stayed dry. We saw the usual follies and a lovely view of the Clock Tower, thanks to Martin for pointing this out. Thank you also to Kay for backmarking. We had a lady join us (Mick's wife Kath) . We took refreshments in the garden at The George and Dragon. Thank you to everyone who came along.

Thank you to the 15 members who turned up for my walk today; especially my wing man Mike and Donna for back marking. We set off from Curbar car park up to White Edge capturing the veil of morning mist in the valley below. Onwards to the Longshaw Estate stopping for coffee, warm scones and pasties. The wind picked up during the morning so we found a cosy spot for lunch before making our way along Curbur Edges back to the car park. Post walk refreshments were taken in the George and Dragon at Holmesfield. Not a raincoat in sight today - boom.

17 of us turned up at Heatherdene on a damp foggy morning.Undeterred  by the miserable conditions we set off along the side of Ladybower and after a short coffee stop climbed Hagg Hill. the stiff climb is usually rewarded by lovely views from the top -  but unfortunately not this time. The fog did not lift until we neared the end of the walk. After returning to the car park and taking off waterproofs we proceeded to the Malin Bridge for refreshment.

Thirteen members set off from Eyam in dry cloudy weather then we had light rain until after elevens`s. The visibility was good and the scenery beautiful. All was well until after lunch which was taken near Great Hucklow Gliding Club but sadly they did not give us a display. From there back to Eyam weather us. varied from drizzle to steady rain but views were still around. We retired to the Miner`s Arms in Eyam dry the outside and and wet the inside, thanks to all who attended. 

It was with great relief ( on my part) that we actually had Nine members to set off with, from Cutthroat Bridge. We welcomed Martin Clay, our newest member. The mist and heavy rain lasted for most of the morning on Stanage Edge. We then paddled through big puddles and splashed all the way downhill through a constant stream of running water. At around midday, the bad weather moved away and we could start to enjoy the lovely views. 

Considering it was a dreary Bank Holiday weekend 13 members represented a good turn out. We met at Windle Edge Road near Dunford Bridge to start our 10 mile walk. We walked up Round Hill towards Howden Edge and then taking in Swains Head. The going underfoot became rough moorland and peat bog with a cold gale blowing on the top of the moors.,We picked up the track on the Longdendale circular to return to our starting point. Very welcome recovery refreshments were taken in the old favourite; Wortley Club.

Eighteen members attended the walk. It started as a cloudy day as we walked across Close Moors via Willikay Clough and the p[ackhorse trail to Haigh Gutter. Once on the Pennine trail overlooking Castleshaw reservoir there was a keen wind which stayed with us until we reached Brun Clough reservoir. After having lunch overlooking Redbrook reservoir we followed the Standedge trail via Netherley and along then end of Butterley reservoir and via the Riverside Brewery tap just as the sun started to shine back to the cars.

Nineteen members met at Anglers Country Park on a very warm sunny day. The walk went along fields and through woods skirting the Waterton Park Golf Course and past Walton Hall Hotel and Spa. A break was taken sitting on the wall of the disused Barnsley canal. Onwards along more cornfields to take lunch at the village of Notton. Some sitting in the sun or shade on the village green and some sitting in the shade watching the Archery on the cricket field. The walk finished along the Barnsley canal and through Haw Park Woods back to the car park.
