Nineteen started todays walk of 7.5 miles but almost 1300 feet of climbing so not an easy walk.  I called it the 6 halls walk because we passed by 6 historic houses that were scattered alongside our route.

Fifteen hardy walkers set off this morning for what turned out to be a very good day's walk. There was a new lady with us today. Starting from Fox House we walked along White Edge to Curbar gap where we had elevenses. The walk continued along Curbar, then Froggatt edges. One of the group had to leave us here and make their own way back to the start. We went down towards Grindleford station where we had lunch. The return to the start was via Padley gorge. Refreshments were taken at the Fox. The weather and company could not have been bettered. Thanks to all. 

14 members set off from Digley Quarry Car Park on a fine sunny morning, with great views over the Holme Valley towards Holme Moss and Black Hill. Shortly after crossing the Holmfirth Road we encountered the 'bracken jungle' along the Harden Clough footpath, which we conquered and reached Meltham Park for a well earned break. Onward, skirting Meltham village, we headed for the woods at Meltham Mills Res - there were Bears about! Then, Honley Woods and onto Seventy Acre Farm and Oldfield.

Sunday's walk was from Cutthroat Bridge, led by our birthday girl, who survived a surprise birthday party the day before. She led 13 of us in heavy rain which lasted until after the coffee break. The route was straight forward with no mishaps. Thank you Keith for backmarking, some of us retired to the pub for refreshments and then homeward bound/

There was a black cloud over the 15 people who set off from Wyming Brook, accompanied by rave music from somewhere on the moors.  We crossed the brook, 3 brave members via the stepping stones and 12 via the bridge.  By the time we had a break over Lodge Lane, the rain never materialised and the rave music had ceased.

On a beautiful sunny day 15 of the walking group set off on a journey from Chatsworth. We stopped briefly in Baslow, carefully negotiated the muddy terrain in Yeld Wood, took a coffee break and then after crossing the busy Sheffield road headed up Gardom's Edge before crossing the A 619. With slight trepidation we crossed the stream via stepping stones, the bridge now being out of commission. From Dobb Edge we had great views of Baslow and the valley that leads back to Chatsworth.

Thirteen hardy souls set off in the rain with more dark clouds hurtling towards us. It wasn't looking good. 

There were twenty of us set off from outside the Church in Bradwell. In addition, there was one 'strag' who set off to do his own thing! It was "wall to wall" sunshine throughout the walk but with a cool breeze.

We ascended Bradwell Edge, some quicker than others, and crossed Abney Moor. We sat on a grassy bank for elevenses overlooking the Hucklow Glider field, where they were preparing for take-off. Glider preparation seems to take a long time but just as we set off, so did the Gliders.

9 of us arrived to walk the walk starting from the carpark in Ashford in the Water. The weather started off  fine until about 12 midday and then it poured  down for about 1 hour. Then after the rain  Mr. Sunshine came out. (Post nubila Phoebus) The countryside was looking its best, it was so green; glossy in the rain. Ashford had its annual flower festival and well dressing day, so the village was very busy, providing a lovely atmosphere. Refreshments (for some for a number of hours) were taken at the George and Dragon in Holmesfield.
