20 members joined me on Sunday for the walk from Crowden. We started gently uphill towards the imposing crag of Laddow Rocks that we were aiming for.  Avery stiff climb up, in places on a near vertical narrow rocky path, which took us from the starting height of 222 metres to 504 metres. Here we stopped for a drink and a snack. The views across the Longdendale Valley and on towards Bleaklow Head were quite stunning. After a well earned break we left Laddow Rocks to cross the moors. (4 members officially left the group at this point to bag an "Ethel" before rejoining us).

e set off from Cutthroat Edge lay- by where everyone arrived early enough to get a parking space. We then climbed steadily up to Stanage Edge, where we had elevenses. A steady walk along the edge led to a causeway , where we descended to Dennis Knoll. Lunch  was taken at some disused quarries where we had lovely views across the valley back towards Stanage Edge. A steady climb led us up to Bamford Edge, which happened to be sunny all the way along.

For a bank holiday weekend it was a pleasant surprise to see 24 people assemble in Rowsley for this walk. As we left the (free!) car park the sun broke from behind the clouds and continued to beam at us for the rest of the day. We immediately struck up a steep hill, joined Chesterfield Lane and then into Copy Wood. We passed through the hamlet of Tinkersley, Northwood Carr and back down to the Derwent river valley at Northwood. We crossed the busy A6, walked past the Peak Railway yards and along the flood plain to Churchtown.

Sixteen of us set out down the road from Millthorpe then followed the stream through Smeekley Wood. After some discussion with some cyclists on the path we were about to take Donna confirmed this was the correct path. Thank you Donna. We continued along Flask Edge and Brown Edge then dropped down to Totley. Lunch was taken at the recreation ground in Totley. We continued past Woodthorpe Hall and Holmesfield Park Wood to arrive at the George and Dragon, Holmsfield. One person decided to finish there and wait for their lift back.

Eighteen members plus one dog set off from Torside car park on a beautiful day for walking, visibility was excellent and Annie has taken some great photos. The first mile was along the Trans Pennine Trail as a warm up for the initially steep climb on the Pennine Way after a mile or so the path levels and the walk heads for the shelter at Glossop Low. a misnomer as it is the highest point around. After elevenses at some grouse butts, we set off on the long downward path to Old Glossop and taking the path to Swinshaw Reservoir.

15 members and a dog started and finished today's walk from Youlgreave. On what looked likely to be a damp start, it soon improved to being an amazing day for walking. Starting from Youlgreave, we soon headed north along the banks of the Bradford Dale before climbing out, the first uphill, to join the limestone way. We carried on, still slightly uphill, until we had elevenses prior to tackling the down and up of Cale Dale. After skirting Monyash, we started the return leg of the walk by entering the northern part of Lathkill Dale. We had our lunch before descending into the dale fully.

Considering the terrible weather forecast it was pleasing to see 13 members turn up in Edale car park. The weather was true to forecast because it was raining as we gathered for the brief before our walk. We set off up the long and steep one and quarter hour climb up Grindsbrook Clough. Unfortunately one of our members did not make the whole way up the climb. On the other hand one member - Natalie - who had to be cajoled and pushed and dissuaded from giving up last year, led the whole way up to the top this year. What a difference a years' walking has made to her fitness!

22 of us set off from New Mill. It was forecast to be another hot sunny day, fortunately there was a cool breeze and cloud cover later in the walk. We managed to find nice shady trees for both the coffee and lunch stops. The route was not well walked and overgrown in places, at one point the bracken was at head height and finding the path was a challenge. I managed to extend the 9 mile walk to 9.5 miles by taking a wrong turn but other than that all went well. Replenishment fluid was taken at the Wortley Men’s Club.

The weather forecast was none too promising but 15 intrepid walkers set out from Baslow car park on a Sunday in early July taking the initially flat path past the imposing splendour of Chatsworth House. As it turned out, apart from the occasional shower, the weather held out, although the heat from recent days seemed  a distant memory. The coffee break was taken shortly before the steep climb from Rowsley and it was then on to Manners wood, Calton pastures etc. before gaining the panoramic view which featured Chatsworth House again.

20 of us set off from Ashford in the Water, we welcomed Tracey who had not walked with us for a while, good to see her. We walked through Great Longstone, Cressbrook Dale and onto the Monsal Trail. We had a post walk drink in The George and Dragon.
