14 members met at Dennis Knoll carpark; it was a misty morning which sadly didn't clear much throughout the day. We made our way up Stanage Edge past Stanage Pole to Redmires Reservoir. Coffee was taken at Hill 60, where we stood for a collective photograph by the commemorative statue; the group observed the two minutes silence at 11am. Lunch was taken near to Crawshaw Lodge before making our way back to the carpark. Post walk drinks were taken in the Hammer & Pincers. Thanks to Mike for back marking and for everyone's company.

Aston and Ulley
Under leaden Aston skies, 22 intrepid members assembled to walk the walk. Framed by the dramatic backdrop of the M1 we meandered through the majestic windmills of Penny Hill Farm before finally arriving, with much fanfare from three startled yet inquisitive horses, onto Hardwick lane. Horses having been duly 'aaaahed' and stroked, we took refreshments at the unnamed and idyllic fishing pond at the end of the lane. We successfully retraced our steps arriving back 6 miles later at Burgoyne Park. Replenishment was secured at the Robin Hood Inn. Thanks to John B. for back-marking

Three Reservoirs Circular from Underbank Reservoir to Midhope Reservoir and Langsett Reservoir
22 of us left Langsett Barn Car Park and crossed the first of the three reservoirs.After walking through a small wood we headed towards Underbank Reservoir taking in lovely views along the way. The larches looked stunning. At the end we came to the small village of Midhopestones. A path behind the village took us to Midhope Reservoir where the trees had been felled and replaced by saplings. This meant that we had a magnificent view of the water, hills and moors while eating our lunch. The day was rounded off by a visit the Wortley Men’s Club, where we were made to feel welcome. Thankyou to all who came and Thankyou to John for offering to be the back marker.

Catcliffe and Tinsley
26 of us gathered near the Boundary Mills car park in Catcliffe on a fine autumn morning. We then took a rather surprisingly interesting walk down the wooded path alongside the Sheffield Parkway passing by the McLaren unit. We then paused to take photographs of the Parkway Man aka Iron Henry which is a 3-tonne cast iron statue of steelworker wielding a sledgehammer which was placed in Bowden Housteads Woods in 2001 as part of the Sheffield City Council 'Fuelling The Revolution' project. We then crossed the Parkway (by bridge of course) and continued through the busy streets of Handsworth before pausing for coffee in High Hazels Park. We then skirted Tinsley Park golf course giving some industrial views of Europa Way and Rotherham before finishing our 5-mile walk back in Catcliffe. Refreshments were taken in the nearby Winter Green pub although several of the walkers gave this a miss to take a shopping opportunity in Boundary Mills!

Cawthorne Circular
Today's walk was really well attended with 20 club members, including a new member Roy, joining in for a rambler around the undulating countryside surrounding Cannon Hall. The weather played it's part, being a bright sunshiney day with little to no breeze. After crossing the busy A628, we made our way passed Banks Hall Farm towards Silkstone. After a break near Whin Moor, we made our way over rolling countryside to eventually enter Deffer Woods. Lunch was taken soon afterwards. After lunch we walked through High Hoyland, Margery Wood and Hood Wood before returning to Cawthorne Village. Drinks were taken at the Spencers Arms. Thanks to all who came and a special thanks to Maggie for backmarking.

Roche Abbey Circular.
26 walkers set of from the church of all saints in Laughton en le Morthen down to the picturesque village of Brookhouse , followed the path to Slade Hooten , down the fields to follow Maltby brook to the ancient wood down to Roche abbey for coffee and bananas, back through the woodland up to the ridge walk with views back to the surrounding area, onto the start of the walk, food and beverages taken at the rising deer in Brampton, and a good time was had by all. Thanks everyone for joining me today. A warm welcome to our newest member Roy.

Scisset, Skelmanthorpe, Lower Cumberworth
Twelve of us gathered at Denby Dale car park for the start of the walk expecting heavy rain and strong winds. Fortunately just a bit of drizzle till lunchtime when for a short while it rained heavily. Leaving Denby Dale we joined the Dearne Way to Scissett where we had a coffee break in the children’s playground. Onwards towards Skelmanthorpe through fields and woods following the Kirklees Light Railway. Lunch stop was by a not so dry stone wall close to Shelley Station where we were rewarded with the train passing by. Back to Denby Dale via Lower Cumberworth. Refreshments were taken at the White Hart Pub. Thanks to those who ventured out today and to Phil for back marking.

Ravenfield
Thank you for all those attended the walk on Thursday, October 17th. 18 of us set off from the "Cavalier" in Ravenfield walking the mile along Braithwell Road before turning off onto the lane which runs adjacent to the M18. We then passed Conisbrough Grange Farm before heading to towards Firsby Reservoir where we took our break having negotiated a quite slippery few metres. From there we passed St James church before heading back to Ravenfield via the old village. The weather was very kind to us on what turned out to be a very pleasant late autumn day with lovely views all around including Conisbrough castle in the far distance. After the walk we took refreshment at the "Grazing Harts" in Micklebring.

Millthorpe, Moorhall, Barlow, Grange, Oxton Rakes, Brindwood Gate, Millthorpe
15 of us and 3 dogs [exceptionally well behaved] set out on an 8 mile walk from the hamlet of Millthorpe on a dry, slightly chilly, Sunday morning. We went via Moorhall, Barlow Grange, Oxton Rakes, Brindwood Gate before returning to Millthorpe, Conditions underfoot were quite good in spite of rain showers during the past week. We enjoyed some lovely views on a walk that is quite close to Sheffield. In fact we could see the city on the horizon. We also welcomed two new walkers both named Julie. Thank you Peter for back marking. I must also thank Natalie for providing a guiding hand to prevent my losing my way. Refreshments were taken at The Rutland in Millthorpe.

Micklebring and Firsby.
21 of us assembled in the car park of the Grazing Harts in Micklebring for a 6 mile circular to Firsby. The weather was cool but sunny giving excellent walking conditions. All was fine on last Saturday's pre- walk but we soon encountered a recently ploughed footpath which looked quite claggy after yesterday's rain. We tried to avoid it by walking round the edge of the field but this was no better and added an unnecessary half mile. Elevenses were taken at Firsby reservoir. There was another ploughed footpath on the return . Fortunately, the farmer was on site and redirected us onto a firmer alternative. Thanks to Andy for backmarking and to the staff of the Grazing Harts for their hospitality.
