A perfect day for walking with hill mist burning off just as we got there. Thirteen of us set off from Rowsley towards Chatsworth following the River valley prior to the long climb to the pastures above Bakewell which were stunning with long clear views in any direction. A steep clamber then took us to Bakewell where we mingled with ducks and tourists at meal break. We followed the river down towards Haddon Hall where we had a short climb before walking back to Rowsley. As usual distances varied between 9 to 10 miles. Many thanks to such fun, kind and supportive group of real friends.

On a lovely sunny day,13 off us set of from the old market square in Longnor, across a few fields onto the small hamlet of Hollinsclough ,descending down through a field and over the Packhorse Bridge where we followed the track to the start off the climb up Chrome hill AKA the dragons back. Most off the group climbed the tricky accent to the top with Peter taking those that didn’t climb it around the bottom off the hill to take the steady ascent. We had lunch at the top with fantastic views all around and of the Packhouse hill.

6 of us set off from Edale car park with low cloud, a little drizzle and our thoughts on the 3 Peak challenge walkers. We started through Edale until the Nags head then turned to climb up to Grindslow Knoll where the first break was taken. The views are breath taking and the weather cleared a little so we could admire them. Around Kinder scout on the new paved path to Kinder low.

On a fine day in late April we set off from Castleton to tackle the relatively steep climb which takes in Treak Cliff and Blue John Caverns before reaching Mam Nick. The turnout of 21 was excellent considering the attraction of the dogs at Owlerton the previous night and the arduous efforts of those in training for the Three Peaks Challenge. Crossing the road at the foot of Mam Tor, coffee break was taken at a spot enabling us to have great views all around.
