What to bring on walks.
On all walks
Proper walking boots, waterproof jacket, food, water
In Summer/hot weather
Sunhat, suncream, sunglasses, extra water
In Winter/poor weather
Waterproof trousers, hat and gloves, spare warm clothing, torch which works, whistle and First Aid Kit (if you have one)
WHAT NOT TO BRING ON WALKS
Please do not wear jeans: if it rains, they get cold and heavy and don’t dry quickly. They will spoil your enjoyment of the walk.
Similarly trainers are not suitable on almost all walks: they provide no ankle support over rocky terrain, they will not keep your feet dry and you could lose them in the mud. They could prove harmful to your well-being.
