Welcome to the Rotherham Rambling Club

The Rotherham Rambling Club offers walks throughout the stunning Peak District and beyond in good company.

Why not join us?

You will be more than welcome.

The Rotherham Rambling Club is forty five years old this year and is still going strong. It was formed in 1979, its purpose being to encourage an appreciation of the countryside in all its aspects and seasons, through the recreational medium of walking and associated activities.

We are an independent club with a membership of approximately 90 people, the cost just £10.00 annually.

We welcome new members as they are the way forward and also ensure that the Club continues to thrive.

We walk every Sunday and try to provide a choice of walks to meet most needs from the strenuous to the leisurely. There is also a shorter Thursday Walk, please consult the website and or walks programme.

There is usually an annual Coach Ramble/ Away Day at the seaside and weekends away. We have had holidays abroad in Tenerife, mainland Spain, Mallorca, Poland and Jersey and at home in The English Riviera, The South Downs, Seahouses, Braemar, Ilfracombe and Weymouth not to mention countless weekends in The Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales and coast.

We have an annual Christmas Lunch after a short walk in a variety of venues: Hellaby Hall, Whitley Hall, Tankersley Manor, The Burntwood Court Hotel, The Carlton Park, The Old Hall, Hope, The Rivelin and The Loyal Trooper to name the most recent.

We have a variety of social events throughout the year, details of which are posted on this page of the website. Our raffles are used to support local charities such as The Edale Mountain Rescue, The Kinder Mountain Rescue, Helimed 54 (Air Ambulance) and Bluebell Wood.

We have strong links with Ramblers.
